I've been in Johto since October. I just got to Olivine the other day.

[L might, but he's really more interested in solving the puzzle than actually taking a stand and battling in a courtroom for the prevalence of a client's unique and petty definition of justice.]

How different is Johto from the manner of world you came from?

It's relatively similar. However my world does not have fire-breathing animals or any creatures similar to Pokémon. It's also bigger; the technology is not as advanced but the cities of my area are more urbanized, and there is a court system.

You seem to prioritize the court system in your description. Did you work closely with it?

My father was a defense lawyer in Los Angeles. I am currently studying under an attorney, myself.

Defense, or prosecution? I suppose that your choice says a lot about you as a person, whichever it is...

Are you offended? I apologize. I meant nothing by it. You said that you were finished mourning and grieving, and I suppose I assumed...

No. The suspect was found innocent and the case was closed without further investigation.

Not exactly, but that's part of it.

What's the rest of it? It seems like a strong motivation, to me. The death of a family member, the pursuit of justice, the choice to prosecute rather than defend... you don't want to see the guilty get away from the punishment they rightfully deserve.

Closes it, then takes a short pause. ] It's not that I don't want to see that happen. I won't allow it to happen.

So it's much more than a desire. A mission. A calling, what could almost be described as a holy purpose of sorts.
