Yeah, I wouldn't say they're the same thing, as the situation was very different. Though I can understand your hesitancy to just brush it off.

It's good to want to take responsibility, but if you only dwell on the past you can't move forward. The point is to learn from your past, and do your best to not let things like that happen again. And also not to blame yourself when the circumstances are out of your control.
