Challenging the Goldenrod gym was a bit of a nightmare when it happened. The gym leader in Violet was less...unique... and I guess I'm glad he didn't to put me in a dress, but I take back my words from when I said to someone that a gym leader qualifies if they do their job right.

[ He reaches for something placed next to the gear, and--voila! Guess who won the Zephyr badge just a short while ago? He looks at it, then looks even more disgruntled. Forced into a dress, fake bottomless pits, self-confidence issues and the threat of being Earthquake'd.

And then there had been Falkner.

It would be hypocritical of me to say that all he talked about was his father, I suppose.

On a different note, in less than a month I'd have been in this world for a year. I've been to a lot of cities, but the only school I've seen teaches only on topics related to Pokémon. How do the people here learn anything else?

...I've yet to meet any older or younger versions of anyone from my world. It sounds kinda interesting, but at the same time, pretty awkward.

I hope so. I've grown a bit while staying in Johto, but it was difficult at first. I could barely reach anything.

Yup, I know how that feels. I try to tell myself that at least I won't bump my head as much as tall people would, but...sometimes I wish I were taller.

[Clover pauses. There was a time when she would yell at anyone who bugged her about wearing heels precisely because she was short. But she had gotten used to all the teasing - and could tease right back if she had to.]

No thank you. They're a bit too fluffy.

Then I'll buy you your very own pair of high heels! You'll have to get used to walking around in them, though.

[Clover can't help it. She dissolves into giggles for...quite a while, before she catches her breath and stops.]

But seriously, heels are a pain when you're not used to them.

[He looks so offended at her laughing.]

Well, I won't wear them.

[She'll try to make him feel better.] You're still growing, anyway. There's more hope for you than for me.

I hope so. My father was a decent height.

I just wasn't lucky with the gene pool, I guess.

You're quite pretty. I don't think it was too bad.

[She covers her mouth to stifle a stream of giggles. Clover has probably had other guys tell her she's pretty, but never a boy below thirteen. It's strange...but flattering. And kind of cute.]

I was only talking about my height, though.
