[The feed turns on early on Monday morning, and hey - it's Miles. He hasn't been posting anything much the past couple of weeks, has he been? He... appears to be aware that the Gear is on, but he's not looking at it at the moment. Instead, there's Remus, his Plusle, wrapped snugly in the ends of his blue scarf, waving cheerfully at the camera.

And then you'd notice that he's... sitting somewhere rather high up. In fact, why does the city seem like it's so far away?

---Oh. Right. It's because he's sitting on the roof of the Goldenrod Hotel.]

[He stares out at the dawning city for a few seconds before, without turning to actually look at the camera, he addresses it.]

It's already been ten days since the New Year, but I was wondering... what year is it here, at least according to the Christian calendar?

[He then turns to finally look at the camera, and that's when you'd notice that he looks - as usual - tired and... perhaps sadder than usual? This weekend had been very tiring for him and his friends, after all. He was still sick, that fever was persistent... and he probably should be resting, but he had to get out at one point. Which was why he's here, seated on the edge of the rooftop, looking out at the city.

He gives the camera a small smile.]

What year was everyone born in, by the way? My birthday was in 1992, but I suppose there are a lot of people from different times here in Johto.

[And he blinks a couple times, yawns, and with a muttered "maybe I should sleep" he reaches over and turns off the video.]

I know I should have contacted you earlier, Phoenix, and I'm sorry, but... I'm all right. I'm with Merlin right now, and Ken.



...Perhaps you've heard from Ken already, but I promised I'd contact you when he woke up. He's fine now, Mr. Shinjiro.

[He was kind of expecting Ken to come here at some point, so he looks up at the voice, glancing over his shoulder and shrugging.]

I won't stay out here too long.

... Can I sit with you? [A-a little worried that he will stay out here too long >>]

--I mean. If you want to be alone, I-I'll wait inside.

Sure. [He scoots back from the edge a little, then offers Ken a smal smile.

.....gdmn does he look tired.]

... [He sits down, silently, hugging his knees.]

[He draws his knees up to his chest as well, Remus climbing up to his shoulder and peering at Ken.]

How are you feeling?

... I'm still here. [He stares at the city] So, a lot better than I thought I'd be.

[That receives a pause, and a nod follows.]

I'm glad to hear that.

... I--[he's apologized so many times by now he's wondering if that's all he can say.]

Ah... Thank you. [oh my god he's so bad with emotion]

I-I won't let you regret what you did.

Regret?

[How does he converse. He blinks at Ken, not comprehending for a split moment.

And then he finally gets it, and he blinks again, looking even more confused.]

Of course I won't regret it.

[Quiet, for a beat]

You might. One day.

.....I won't regret it.

If I did, it would be hypocritical of me.

I won't... I won't die. Because I want to see my friends live. So please, don't worry about me.

[Reaching over and just... kind of patting Ken's head.]

[Miles can't find his own reason until he's done dealing with von Karma. He's still wondering what would happen after that... ]

He falters, his hands clenching slightly, and a frown settles on his face. He'd eventually have to face up to it, but the thought of death at this time continued to throw him back to the beach last night, and the elevator back home..

He almost looked like he might start crying, but then he turns to Ken, giving him a rather weak smile.]

More than you'll ever know.

Then I can't die!

I owe it to you and Shinjiro-san, at least, to keep on living.

[The grin is there as Miles reaches out to pat Ken's head again.. but he doesn't. Instead, his hand falls on Ken's shoulder, followed by the boy pressing his face against the same shoulder.

...and he seems to be crying.]
