[The video begins with a clattering noise as the gear tumbles onto tiled floor of Goldenrod's Pokémon Center. It records at a weird angle for a while, staring at a ceiling and the underside of a table (covered in gum! ewwww), and a pile of books threatening to fall to the floor as well.

When he gets up from his seat to retrieve the fallen Gear, Miles looks like he just woke up from a stressful nap. A long, uncomfortable one, since he'd been asleep at the table since last night. He's actually a little surprised nobody kicked him out.

He scrubs his eyes and snatches the gear up, frowning and in a terrible mood. He stares at the camera.]

. . .

[Then, with a sigh, he shakes his head and turns his frown into a less unpleasant expression. Maybe he's grimacing.]

I've yet to give my thanks for the gifts I received this holiday.

Um... Thank you. I hope everybody has a pleasant end of the year.

The wind is really picking up today.

[The first post in quite a while. Between his part-time job and the increasing number of Pokemon in his small travel group, he'd forgotten about posting with the gear for a few weeks. Even today, he'd only been viewing the network before his attention turned to the growing snowstorm outside and a curiosity struck him.]

It never snowed in the city where I grew up. [sans game 2 case 3 and Hazakura Temple] Winter doesn't get this cold in southern California.

... How was the weather like for everyone else's world?

Does anybody have tips on handling a violent electric sheep?

[ He did say he was going to keep it, but there is probably no way he can tame that thing on his own (if at all). He was finally released from the hospital after eleven, long days--an effort to make sure he stays out would be prudent, would it not be?

After all, he enjoys the sun. He's still got bandaids and some gauze, as well as scars, from his accident (attempted slaughter?) last time, but he's outside and under the sun, and it feels great. Armed with book and all the available games on his Pokégear (he needed something to entertain himself with), he's going to sit outside all day and let his Pokémon have their exercise. :|b ]

... After this last week, I don't want to see another ceiling tile in my life.

[ Forward-Dated to the evening of September 15, Thursday, nearing twilight ]

[ The video turns on, and Miles looks concerned. It's just about nearing sunset in Goldenrod right now, the streetlights and store signs flickering to life, and the sky a deep red-orange overhead. He's alone. There is no sign of Ken Amada, but there is no comment on that. He just looks concerned. ]

Has anybody seen a Mareep wandering around Goldenrod? An acquaintance of mine recently departed from Johto and left me it's Pokémon Ball with Nurse Joy, but it was empty.

[ He's walking as he speaks, but he doesn't seem to notice the yellowish blob of something fluffy approaching him from behind. The camera catches the Mareep in question (and it's a very mean-looking Mareep, mind you) sneaking up to his new trainer, but Miles is not even looking at the screen. ]

... If you see him, please tell me and don't go near him. I don't think it's sa--

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee--

[ The video ends here. ]

[ Twenty minutes later. ]

[ It takes a while for the noise to fade from the screen. When the feed clears up, Miles is sitting up on a bed in the Pokémon Center with an Espeon (an Espeon! The Eevee had evolved just a few minutes ago!) on his lap. His hair is singed and there are bandages--definitely not a pretty sight. He sounds very, very tired as he speaks again. ]

... I found him.

[ The video is shaky, as whichever Pokémon recording trudges through the sand of the beach. The weather in Cianwood is beautiful today--blue sky, blue ocean, white sand and a slight breeze! You can see an orange pool float bobbing up and down on the waves, with a family of electric mice soaking up the sun.

And there's Miles, sitting on the sand.

He's clearly got no agenda to get in the water with the short sleeved shirt he's wearing, or the book lying open on his lap, but he's enjoying summer in his own way. Jason the Cubone is sitting right next to him, diligently building a sand castle. He needs help often, though, so Miles isn't getting much reading done because he keeps having to hold the bucket for his Pokémon or dig a moat with him...

and the camera-mon finally reaches the pair, setting the gear down on an upturned bucket before a Charmander waddles into the screen, plopping herself down on one of her trainer's knees. Miles rubs her head and turns to the camera, picking it up. He's grown used to it recording without him intending to.. :|a

He's in a pretty good mood today. ]

Ken and I've arrived in Cianwood. I could have done without the ferry ride, but this town is quite beautiful. I've never really been to a beach before, either...

I was told on the way here that there's a place called a Safari Zone nearby--what is it, exactly, does anybody know?

Cut for some action. )

[ July 14. 1:13 P.M. ]

[ The audio message reaches the network in the early afternoon, a short, quiet transmission from that bench by the sea. ]

I think there was a number of people she spoke to while she stayed here, so this is a message to anybody who knew her: Franziska von Karma has returned to her world.

[ He doesn't like it. He's scared for her. He's going to miss her and he already misses her. She was family. They were closer here than he was with the younger Franziska back home. It was like losing Gregory all over again. Somehow it hurt more than anybody else whose disappearance he learned of.

He'd been out here for hours now, but he feels no motivation to get up and return to the hotel as of yet. Anybody who comes looking for him, or passes by, will find a grey-haired boy sitting against the railing, his back to the sea, with Pess, Pip, and another, bigger Growlithe--Sirius, the second Pokémon Miles met during his whole time in Johto, and Pip's father--all sitting around him. ]

 Y-You meanie...!

[ Oh, it's that oddly familiar crying. Need I state why you're hearing this sound again, Johto? Probably not--those white sneakers on the screen definitely belong to the crybaby gym leader of Goldenrod, and there are only so many situations in which she cries. As the camera keeps rolling, Miles' voice speaks up, sounding more impatient than usual. ]

Miss, there's no use crying. I won, can I please just--

You meanie, you bully--!

You'll have to wait a little until she stops crying to get your badge, honey, she always gets like this.

I know that. [ Miles sounds so upset right now, it's actually a bit funny. Jason, who's holding the camera, turns around while the shota keeps talking. There's Remus over by Ken (who looks like he's trying hard not to laugh--maybe at Miles troubling over the crying Whitney), having a celebratory party with Romulus and their baby, Perseus, and Pess and Pip are nearby, too. He turns back around to Miles just as he finishes talking. ] I know she cries, and I'll wait for my badge, but this is beyond the-- I want my clothes back.

Oh, but you look so cute right now! [ The girls from the gym are all speaking up and arguing about giving Miles back his clothes, but Miles is just as adamant 8( You can't blame him, though--

Jason raises the camera to show more than just Miles' feet. If your'e watching this feed, you'll see that Miles is wearing a dress.

Yes. A
dress. The lasses and ladies at the gym thought he was a girl. 8( ]

You should totally keep wearing it! You'll be a perfect match with that little girl we put the tiara on and--

I want my clothes. Now. [ and a click! as Jason decides THIS IS BORING and turns off the camera to go play with Nemesis-- ]

[ EXTRA BROADCAST: from later in the evening. ]

[ Now it is time for Remus to be a proud papa. You know those parents that like to take videos of their babies? Of their babies doing absolutely nothing at all? Remus is like that, and since his trainer is sulking anyway, he's gotten his hands on the Gear and is recording his and Romulus' baby.

Percy the Minun is rolling around the hotel room, poking Nemesis and Growling, getting dragged away from Castor while Growling, running at Pip and Kirby and Growling, hugging Romulus and Growling at Cara who is nearby. He even Growls at the monster-looking thing created by a pile of pillows. And a lamp. And eventually coming to a stop near the Great Orange Wall named Pess, he Growls at her, too.

And all he does is Growl at her. For fifteen minutes. ]

Isn't he great?? [ 8DDDD Remus is a Proud Papa. ]

Plus plusle! [ The cheerful cry of Miles' Plusle that rings out on the network today is accompanied by an equally cheerful and grinning Remus waving something small, purplish, and shiny in front of the camera. Any Pokémon watching the feed would be able to understand his cries of excitement to be "Look! Look guys we did it!"

[ It becomes obvious what exactly Remus was so delighted about in just a few moments, as when he finally calms down a little and stops waving his arms crazily it's now possible to identify that purple blob he was holding to be...

a Fog Badge!

And does Remus look proud, though standing a little behind him is Miles' unnamed Eevee - unnamed still because she absolutely loves giving him a hard time and is picky about her own name, and doesn't like any that Miles suggests to her - who looks unimpressed. ]

Vee... [ She's so unimpressed - "What are you acting so proud about? It's not like you even-- " But Remus isn't listening as he goes on and on. ]

Plusle! Plus! [ "And then we fell down into that bottomless pit thing on the way back, and now we're going to go to the onsen and the ladies at the inn helped us put these on--!!"

These by which he means the yukata he has donned. A short distance behind him and the Eevee, a small group of Miles, Ken, and Romulus the Minun are watching the hyper Plusle bounce around. Miles is looking pretty calm, but he also looks better than his last video post... a little more self-assured, or a little proud. He and his Pokémon did win that badge after all. ]

Let's go, Remus. Make sure you turn off the camera.

Pluuuus! [ Remus needs no second reminder to get to the baths. In his excitement though he forgets the second part of Miles' commands, and he leaves the camera recording when he scampers after his trainer and his trainer's best friend.

Way to go, Remus. Jason the Cubone slips on-screen just for a moment when he, being more responsible than the Plusle, reaches up to turn off the Gear, but not before-- ]

Plugh!

[ Remus is shown tripping on the hem of his yukata in his haste and he goes falling flat on his face.

And the feed finally cuts. ]

Cut for background info tl;dr. )

[ Slowly but steadily over the months, Miles Edgeworth has been growing homesick and depressed, and his Pokémon are trying to get him to find something to do. ]

[ The feed opens up today to Miles seated under a tree and looking at the Gear. Oddly enough it's being used properly this time, not another recording by his mischievous Plusle or other Pokémon. Miles has placed the Gear on his bag as a stand and is looking at it - unsurely. Not that this hasn't been his default face for awhile now, but this time he looks almost uncomfortable as he addresses the network. ]

I... I am considering challenging the gym leader in Ecruteak once we reach the city, as my Pokémon have been insistent on this idea for the past few days. [ They've been nagging him nonstop about it since they left Olivine City in an attempt to give their trainer something to do. Almost as proof of this, Remus the Plusle and Tal the Wooper can be seen bouncing behind him with the Trainer Handbook open to a page on the Pokémon League, looking excited -- guys guys convince him for us too! ]

I've never partaken in an official battle before, and going in blindly without any preparation would be foolish. Is there anything I should be particularly aware of before challenging him?

[ And Miles leans forward to click off the feed, but before the connection it cut off he can be heard muttering to his group of Pokémon-- ]

He's a Ghost type user though... are you guys sure you're okay with this?
miniworth: ([♠])

Beeeeeeeeeeeep.
The number you have dialed is no longer in service.

[ It's been awhile since this message reached Miles Edgeworth's ear. But while he was now very much aware that this was a frequent occurrence, he never expected to hear it from this gear.

... A sick feeling settling in his stomach - but you can't be gone you just went to go get that Pearl girl before you both went quiet you can't be gone - he tries again. ]

Beeeeeeeeeeeep.
The number you have dialed is no longer in service.

[ And the feeling is heavy as he closes his gear for just a moment. Lifting himself up from the chair he was sitting on, Miles begins to walk... outside of the hotel room, down the hall and out of the hotel, through the city.

He comes to a stop at the railing overlooking the ocean before, opening his gear again, he sends out a message to the network. ]

Phoenix Wright has gone home.
miniworth: ([♠] Jason)

[ Johto's weather is simply atrociously bipolar. Very, terribly bipolar.

Which is probably why today is forty degrees (Fahrenheit) hotter than it was yesterday and Miles Edgeworth is not wearing his usual shirt-and-jacket attire. No. He's rather comfortable in this weather wearing a short-sleeved shirt and sitting outside on the Goldenrod street without a hat, just lazying on the bench.

It's really nice that those bugs are gone - he faired better than some, but a certain Growlithe had thrown one of those Pinecos in his face, and that darn bug had detonated, so Miles has a bandaid on his forehead as well a gauze against his burned cheek. Gdmit Pip. 8|

But Pip doesn't really care about that because hey, Miles is alive and he was well enough to drag Pip back to the Pokémon center after that WHY SHOULD HE BE WORRIED. So he's frolicking about, chasing his own tail and... looking pretty refreshed. Because spring has come, and Miles had taken Pip and Pess to get a trimming. Pip's got short hair now, and he's pretty darn happy about this. Fuck yeaaahhhhhh.

But his mom? Oh. Oh. Oh Pess isn't very happy about this. She was so proud of her fur, Miles, sure it was really warm but SHE WAS SO PROUD. And the trimming is fine, she's sure she'll grow to like it... but still. So she's sulking, a very, very sulky Arcanine lying next to the bench Miles is sitting on, sending him sulky glares every now and then.

In the meanwhile, as Miles fiddles with his Gear and keeps turning on and off the text option, Remus the Plusle, Nanako's old Squirtle, Jason the Cubone and Cara the Charmander are enjoying ice cream.

It's... really nice that there are no exploding bugs anymore. But there are some important, serious things Miles has been thinking about since those Pokémon started causing trouble. A certain pair of videos had caught his attention, and though Miles didn't particularly respond to one, Miles Edgeworth can't leave certain things alone.

Certain things.. like criminals that get away with their crimes. With a sigh, he opens up his Gear and types in a few words. ]

Here is a text. )

miniworth: ([♠] Grey-haired boys.)
[ Forward-dated to APRIL 1ST because Yun won't be here.

i also should mention that Souji is written in with Ichi's permission.]

[ The thing is, it usually doesn't rain so much in Miles' world that the ground under his feet gets flooded by five inches of water. When it does though, tall folks of Johto, you must realize that five inches is a big deal for someone who's tiny and only four and a half feet tall. It means that you're shin-deep and your shoes are dead and you're miserable.

Let me repeat that: miserable.

So guess who's miserable today on his way back from work? That's right - (1) Miles Edgeworth. So let's get on with today's post and see how much scowling he'll do.

Today's episode of Shotas in Johto only has ONE SHOTA. )
miniworth: (Default)
[ It has been a good two weeks now since Miles and Ken got lost in the Ilex forest. However, as stated in our last airing of Shotas in Johto a few days back, the two boys have found their way to an actual path thanks to Pess remembering that she was a dog. After getting out of the forest, shoving the ever-jumpy Polydeuces, the ever-woobie Jason, a dazed Nyx, and the excited rest of their Pokémon onto Pess' back, climbing aboard themselves, and using the Pess Express for the rest of the way back to Goldenrod.... was a breeze.

Saturday: They stumbled into the city, still a bit giggly at how easy this now was, and after (a mental cheering of CIVILIZATION. CIVILIZATION) checking into the hotel and dumping their luggage, taking turns at showering - they made sure their Pokémon got cleaned up as well (minus Pess, who Miles took to the groomers in the Tunnel later) - both boys made their way to the Pokémon Center. Miles would now be working there again.

His plans for Goldenrod go as follows, in no specific order apart from #1:

1. Take a shower.
2. Punt Layton for getting stuck in an elevator.
3. Give Nanako her gift(s).
4. Send out all the
White Day gifts (never mind that he isn't Japanese or even remotely close to it).
5. Get a job (because Franziska's brooch cost quite a bit).

And then, Sunday came. And guess who has finally gotten himself a new Pokégear after that last one took a misfortunate dive into the Slowpoke Well? Him. And Remus the Plusle is ecstatic that he can use this whenever he wants, now, without his trainer reprimanding him to make sure he asked Ken first (ffffff o9 ).

So this fine, fine Sunday, Johto will for the first time in weeks get a video post from a Pokégear from (1) Miles Edgeworth, and the feed opens up to show the boy crouched on the street by a vending machine, placing a can of lemonade into the reaching hands of a curious Charmander. Today is Cara's first day walking around in a big city, and it could be assumed that she'd pointed out the mysterious vending machine to Miles during her adventuring.

Remus records this scene for a few more seconds before, realizing that nothing special was really going to happen, he starts to pan the camera, searching for something interesting--

and finds a Box-n-Bag Monster.

A walking Box-n-Bag Monster.

A Box-n-Bag Monster who is coming closer to them, and trips ( "Ah--!" ) and nearly drops her boxes and shopping bags all over Miles when she is a couple feet away.

Needless to say, this is Miles, so he's already on his feet and helping this Box-n-Bag Monster with her luggage by the time she even trips, so there's one shota arm catching the toppling boxes, and the other shota arm reaching out to steady the little girl who tripped. ]

Are you alright?

Ah - yes, thank you... oh! Miles!

[ The little flustered looking girl that looks up at her savior is (1) Nanako Dojima , who smiles brightly in that cute Nanako way as she straightens herself, fixing her hold on the shopping bags that she managed not to drop. ]

You finally made it to Goldenrod! I'm glad.. you (and Ken both) have to be careful not to get lost again.

[ Miles shakes his head, hoisting the boxes more comfortably in his arms, when Nanako raises hers to carry them again. ] I'm sorry we worried you. We're fine now, but I'm worried you'll trip again. I'll help you carry these.

Oh..! [ Nanako smiles a little wider, and there's a giggle. ] Thank you, Miles! I just need to take these back to our hotel!

[ The camera is still recording as Cara, lemonade still held carefully in her hand, climbs up to Miles shoulder and perches herself atop one of the boxes (keeping herself on by clinging to a strand of Mile's hair) and the two children smile at each other and begin walking in the direction Nanako had been going. Remus follows.

A few minutes pass of idle chitter chatter, until Miles at his friend with curiosity. ]
Say, Nanako, what are these boxes for?

Oh, these are for Big Bro! [ Nanako looks very, very proud of herself. ] It's his birthday today, so Dad and I are going to throw him a big party!

[ There is a short, short pause as Miles, who hasn't celebrated his birthday with anyone since DL-6, tilts his head thoughtfully because oh hey-- ] Today is your brother's birthday, too?

Yeah! Well, he's not really my brother.. he's my cousin, but he's like my big brother and it's his birthday toda--!
[ She stops, then blinks. ] "Too"?

[ Birthdays aren't much of a big deal for Miles, especially not his own. He nods at Nanako's question like there's nothing wrong. ] I was born on the twentieth, as well.

[ And then the usually cheerful Nanako stops in her tracks, smile fading. Remus halts as well, and Miles stops a moment later, turning to her with another, quizzical tilt of his head. ]

Is something the matter, Nanako?

[ There is no response from the little girl to that question, but Remus' camera is still recording, and her face is quite visible. There was a thoughtful linefais she'd inherited from her detective father, a linefais when Miles affirmed her suspicions, but now that she's learned it was her friend's birthday today and oh my god she didn't know!?! that linefais tilts... down. In to a frown.

The frown grows deeper and deeper, her eyebrows furrowing, and she's silent the entire time until she eventually looks close to tears. When she speaks again, her voice is quiet. ]

Why didn't you tell me...?

Mm? [ Miles looks alarmed by the sudden look of not happy on Nanako's face, but he's apparently not sure why she's upset (great job, Edgeworth). ]

Why didn't you tell me it was your birthday today??? [ And Nanako is just flailing: she hops from foot to foot in a moment of of "WHAT DO" before, shoving the bags she was holding into Miles' hand, she shoots him a stern, ver very stern look. ] Um, you have to wait for me here, okay? I'll be back really soon!

[ .....And she's off, leaving Miles looking after her looking extremely confused, all of the girl's belongings held in his arms now. He blinks after her for a number of seconds before he finally takes note of the giggling Plusle beside him. He looks extremely flustered, and then even MORE flustered, when he sees the camera there.]

You were recording that, weren't you.

-- Mi! [ The giggling stops, and the feed cuts of hastily when Miles scowls at Remus. ]

[[ ooc: [livejournal.com profile] usedjunes has been written into this post with permission from her mun, Ame! Thanks for the dose of cute, Ame~ ]]
miniworth: ([♠] He came out of the what castle.)
[As the camera flickers on and adjusts to the dim light inside of the Ilex Forest, let us all start with an overview of what has been going on in the last few episodes of Shotas in Johto days of Ken and Miles' lives.

First of all, there have been lots of wild Pokémon. Lots of them. It started off with a
hoard of Paras snatching Remus and Romulus away. Then a Bulbasaur had attacked Ken (after he stepped on her). Pip has also ATTACKED WITH FIRE every other Pokémon that ever appeared in his path; this usually resulted in poor, fainted wild Pokémon or more burns on Miles' fingers. And Ken facepalming like no tomorrow.

There has also been a lot of wandering. Utterly lost and failing to remember that Miles' eight foot tall dog has a wonderful sense of smell that could un-lost them in possibly a few hours, the two boys have been wandering through the forest for a good nine days now. Nine days of wandering, camping, and encountering wild Pokémon. At least they were together. Oherwise they'd be in a lot of trouble.

For example: ]

--!! O-ow.

[Now.]

Hold still, Miles - I'm almost done.

[The camera is finally adjusting to the darkness, and the screen shifts in the arms of whatever Pokémon is holding the communicator this time - a small grunt of "Plu" and "Minu" soon indicate who they are - before coming to focus on the two little boys by the campfire. One is seated on a fallen log, shoulders hunched and his face scrunched into an uncomfortable grimace as the other stands over him, biting his tongue in concentration as he keeps his eyes on... whatever he's doing with the top of Miles' head.

It appears that the said top of Miles' head is moving.]

Really, Miles, how did you even manage this? [Ken is grumbling - he doesn't seem angry, but the amusement is blending nicely with exasperation.] I could understand getting leaves or twigs in your hair - it's getting really long too - but.... Zubats?

[....that's right, Johto. Zubats. Zubats! In Miles' hair.

Don't. Even. Ask.

The wild Pokémon just flaps its wings wildly, yanking on more of Miles' grey hair, and the boy winces, hand flying to the back of his head. Ken swats it away though, shaking his head and continuing to untangle the bat's claws from his friend's hair. Miles just grimaces more, sighing at this new misfortune... then scowls when he sees the camera recording.]

Remus. Romulus. Turn that off.

[[ooc; Hello Route! Remember how Miles dropped his Gear down the well and totally decimated it? Well, it's still broken, hence the post via Ken's Gear. There will be replies from both shotas! :D ]]
miniworth: ([♠] Cara)
No, Pip. You're not supposed to eat the pawn. Put it back!

[The feed opens up to the view of --- something. It's hard to tell what it is exactly that's being recorded, because whoever has Miles' Pokégear in possession today is moving very fast (bouncing up and down, spinning and twirling), and the screen is a ridiculous blur of  omg what the hell is this for the first half a minute.

The only thing that can be made out is Miles' voice as he yells at his Growlithe to stop eating his chess pieces. When Tal the camera-wooper-man finally gets bored of bouncing and settles to sit somewhere and calmly film, what comes into view is a flustered ten-year-old sitting on the bed, pulling a pawn away from Pip and glaring at the Growlithe who is now chewing contentedly on a tennis ball. ]

Now look what you did. They've got teeth marks all over them. [A sigh, and Miles returns to setting up his game again.] What am I going to do with you, always chewing on everything...

Yip! [Well, you could always buy me a new chew toy...]

[But that gets answered by a linefais from Miles, who shakes his head and moves a pawn forward on his board; apparently, he's playing a game against himself, because he's soon reaching across the board to move a pawn from the other side, as well.

.....He doesn't get very far, though, because--]

Plus!

Wh---!

[ --Remus the Plusle thinks it is a wonderful idea to cannonball dive right onto the chessboard with an orange egg held in his arms. Understandably, the chess pieces go flying in every which direction possible, and Miles is not a very happy camper anymore. He facepalms.]

Rem, what are you doing.

Plus! [Remus holds up the orange egg in his arms, and..... hey! Is that thing moving? And cracking? Because it sure looks like it is. Miles notices too, and the destroyed game of chess is immediately forgotten as both boy and his Pokémon are suddenly intrigued by this hatching Pokémon.

......Remember that scene from the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter), when
the trio/Hagrid/Malfoy watched Norbert the dragon hatch from his egg? Yeah, imagine that - just that unlike the movie this doesn't happen in French, there are less people, and instead of a gray dragon it's a lizard with a flaming tail.

And when the Charmander sees her trainer? She sneezes - and Miles is once again assured of a few weeks of trying to keep his fingers from getting burned to death. :Db But he still looks pretty delighted, and he's soon reaching for the Pokégear that's lying nearby. (Tal, I keep telling you not to turn on the Gear without asking first-- oh, well.... )

The baby Charmander is already flopped comfortably over Miles' lap, giving the camera a 8> face. ]

The egg you gave me hatched, Phoenix. [The Charmander is smiling (not grinning, smiling) at the network. D'aww, lookit her.] I... think I'll name her Cara.

---- and I'll show her to Pess, later, too.

[[ ooc: the Charmander egg was purchased by Phoenix Wright from Riku, then gifted to Miles. :|b ]]
miniworth: (Default)
[The feed turns on this fine Tuesday afternoon from a Gear that hasn't posted in quite a while. The camera adjusts, focuses, and then shows a disgruntled looking child sitting - legs crossed, leaning back in the chair, with a serious line face - at a table in what looks like the café at the Goldenrod Hotel. A newspaper held in one hand, the other holding....

.....a cup of tea. That he drinks out of.

Good afternoon, residents of Johto, Miles Edgeworth has woken up and he snuck out of the Pokémon Center last night, too, but that's another story.]

Plus!

[The sudden voice is accompanied by the invasion of Remus the Plusle, who hops onto his trainer's lap and takes the cup of tea from him, sitting down and cheerily gulping down the warm drink. His moody expression brightening slightly into that of amusement, Miles gives a soft chuckle and lowers the paper, turning his full attention to the Gear that Remus must have turned on earlier.

First, he sighs. And then he glares at the camera.]
Franziska von Karma.
[Oh boy, is he pissed.]

Upon my waking up just last night, I was informed of your ill-mannered conduct upon your arrival in Johto. You acted rudely and immaturely, and - surely - as one who aspires to succeed that perfect Manfred von Karma, being able to civilly interact with those you meet would be an important skill?

First of all, I have done nothing to be called a coward by you.

Secondly, yelling my name into the network was an over-the-top, yet sufficient way of getting in contact with me. However, I was indeed asleep for the last few days, and refusing to believe the tale when told so was foolish of you. Proceeding then to snap at these people and antagonizing them is even worse.

[A pause, as he takes a breath and rubs his temple.]

As your older brother, and the reason why you ended up acting so disrespectfully to those who simply wanted to help you, I suggest that you rethink your actions carefully and apologize to them soon. Your father stressed the importance of perfection in every aspect of life - and if you are still aspring to fulfill that perfection, it would do you good to start by acting, at least, like you know how to speak without angering every face you see.

[Another pause, and then he looks away from the camera looking a bit squicked out.]

... I don't think I'll ever perfect imitating Mr. von Karma's way of talking.

[He reaches over to drink the tea, but the cup must have been emptied by Remus. He stops, sighs, and sends the camera another look.]

I'll be waiting for your call, Fran. That is all.

... I hope you're doing all right.
miniworth: (Do you really think so?)
[The feed turns on early on Monday morning, and hey - it's Miles. He hasn't been posting anything much the past couple of weeks, has he been? He... appears to be aware that the Gear is on, but he's not looking at it at the moment. Instead, there's Remus, his Plusle, wrapped snugly in the ends of his blue scarf, waving cheerfully at the camera.

And then you'd notice that he's... sitting somewhere rather high up. In fact, why does the city seem like it's so far away?

---Oh. Right. It's because he's sitting on the roof of the Goldenrod Hotel.]

[He stares out at the dawning city for a few seconds before, without turning to actually look at the camera, he addresses it.]

It's already been ten days since the New Year, but I was wondering... what year is it here, at least according to the Christian calendar?

[He then turns to finally look at the camera, and that's when you'd notice that he looks - as usual - tired and... perhaps sadder than usual? This weekend had been very tiring for him and his friends, after all. He was still sick, that fever was persistent... and he probably should be resting, but he had to get out at one point. Which was why he's here, seated on the edge of the rooftop, looking out at the city.

He gives the camera a small smile.]

What year was everyone born in, by the way? My birthday was in 1992, but I suppose there are a lot of people from different times here in Johto.

[And he blinks a couple times, yawns, and with a muttered "maybe I should sleep" he reaches over and turns off the video.]

In which Miles doesn't act his age and is a general depressfail aka TL;DR TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT. )

"---Achoo!"

.......He knew he'd regret that nap.

Shaking the snow out of his damp hair, Miles scrambled to his feet, staggering back as his head spun from the sudden change in latitude, his earlier sobbing, and the on-coming cold. Pip was still asleep curled up in his scarf.

The boy's gray eyes darted around the glade quickly, his sleepy mind trying to remember where he was, until they finally landed on the small grave he made. The sight of it sobered him immediately.

Miles raised an arm to rub his eyes with his fist, but clenching his hands reopened the scabs on his fingers, and accompanied by a sharp pain, they began to bleed again. With a sigh, the boy reached into his pocket to search for his Gear.

Pulling the device out of his hand, he checked the time.

4:49 P.M.

.....Well, snap.

He'd been asleep for much longer than he thought he had. In fact, the sky overhead was already growing dark. A small panic seized him as he realized how angry his roommate would be when he returned, having disappeared from the room while Phoenix was still asleep, and he still had to call Misaki when he returned to Goldenrod, too..

And there was somebody else he had to contact. His memory flashed back to that day in the dark hotel during the power outage, the tall man in who was walking through the building for exercise, the one with the scar running down his face...

"I need to hurry."

Still holding the sleeping pup against his chest, Miles hurried to grab his bag slinging it over his shoulder. He momentarily thought about pulling on his gloves to hide the cuts when he reached Goldenrod - the pair he received from Ken was inside his bag - but decided against it. He didn't want to get them dirty with the blood. Throwing one foot forward, followed briskly by the other, he began to march out of the clearing --

and stopped.

And he tuned to take one last look at his father's grave.

"....Good-bye, Dad. I'll-- I'll come visit again."

And with those last words, Miles Edgeworth spun on his heels, walking away.

[[ OOC; Action posts can be made to Miles after he's returned from his trip to Route Thirty-Five! He'll be wandering around the city with Pip, who finally woke up, frolicking around his feet and his fingers still looking like they had an accident with a cheese grater (for those who TL;DR-ed, the kid was digging in the frozen ground with his bare hands for two hours just to make his daddy-o a makeshift grave, so, uh.... yeaaaah) He's also got the tired look of someone who cried himself to sleep.... on the snow, with a nasty cold coming in to hit him within the next twenty hours, so expect some general crankiness from the kid. \(O.o)/ He's also kind of soaking wet.

It is also 2:30 A.M. here and I am GOING TO SLEEP I am sorry for my terrible writing today and any grammar errors. /o-orz A-also feel free to prose back or action post? ;; ]]

[Forward dated to Monday morning.]

....Wright.

[The video turns on and shows that the boy is standing in a hotel room. The lights are on, and... it looks like the room was in use until just recently. The camera - held in trembling hands - captures the sulking figures of three Pokémon sitting on the messily made bed.]

---Wright.... he's gone.

[[ooc; -- With permission from our dear Gumshoe-mun, who dropped (SOB), Miles will be taking care of Missile from now on... but Gummy also had two other characters and y'all should ask Officer so the poor babes can have homes. ;A; ]
