[The feed turns on early on Monday morning, and hey - it's Miles. He hasn't been posting anything much the past couple of weeks, has he been? He... appears to be aware that the Gear is on, but he's not looking at it at the moment. Instead, there's Remus, his Plusle, wrapped snugly in the ends of his blue scarf, waving cheerfully at the camera.

And then you'd notice that he's... sitting somewhere rather high up. In fact, why does the city seem like it's so far away?

---Oh. Right. It's because he's sitting on the roof of the Goldenrod Hotel.]

[He stares out at the dawning city for a few seconds before, without turning to actually look at the camera, he addresses it.]

It's already been ten days since the New Year, but I was wondering... what year is it here, at least according to the Christian calendar?

[He then turns to finally look at the camera, and that's when you'd notice that he looks - as usual - tired and... perhaps sadder than usual? This weekend had been very tiring for him and his friends, after all. He was still sick, that fever was persistent... and he probably should be resting, but he had to get out at one point. Which was why he's here, seated on the edge of the rooftop, looking out at the city.

He gives the camera a small smile.]

What year was everyone born in, by the way? My birthday was in 1992, but I suppose there are a lot of people from different times here in Johto.

[And he blinks a couple times, yawns, and with a muttered "maybe I should sleep" he reaches over and turns off the video.]

I know I should have contacted you earlier, Phoenix, and I'm sorry, but... I'm all right. I'm with Merlin right now, and Ken.



...Perhaps you've heard from Ken already, but I promised I'd contact you when he woke up. He's fine now, Mr. Shinjiro.

[Ken kind of. Awkwardly rubs Miles' arm a little.]

T-that's why I came up here in the first place..

... [He bites back his dislike of his own self...]

... I'll protect you from now on.

.....Haha. [He raises his head, rubbing his eyes with his sleeve. That awkward grin might never leave his face again if he kept this up, but there it is again, stuck in limbo between smiling and frowning.]

That was brilliantly cheesy, Ken, almost like from a fairy tale.

[But he nods anyway, now finally smiling.]

[Cue a little more soft laughter, and Miles puts a hand on Ken's shoulder.]

All right, all right -- if you say so.

[He really is happy though.]

[WELL you have Ken grinning for the first time since his canon update, that is seriously something.]

It didn't!

[SMILING KEN GET!]

I'll believe you this time, Ken. This time.

[And he leans back until he's lying on the rooftop, staring uuuuup at the sky. And then there's a rather cheerful-sounding sigh.]

[tossing his third jacket (lol i can't believe he wears three jackets) on miles with an exaggerated sigh.]

At least stay warm if you're going to stay up here forever.

[Doesn't he still have Miles' jacket? xD

The jacket falling on his face just amuses Miles more, and he can be heard speaking in a muffled voice from underneath it.]

Won' help if you suffocate me first, Ken.

[he probably would have given it back by now.]

It's not my fault if you're too lazy to move it.

...Touché. [Aaand pulling the jacket off his face, but holding onto it.]

Say, did you see the video? [He wants to know your birthday, Ken. ]

I'm just curious. [Still on his back, waving one miraculously unbandaged hand.]

When's your birthday?

June 24th. [AHAHA not saying a word on his birth year.]

[Miles suspects nothing.]

... If I measured in this world, I'd be twelve. But I only just turned eleven before I got here.

....I came here the day after my tenth birthday.

I'm not sure what to make of turning eleven in only two more months..
