[ Johto's weather is simply atrociously bipolar. Very, terribly bipolar.

Which is probably why today is forty degrees (Fahrenheit) hotter than it was yesterday and Miles Edgeworth is not wearing his usual shirt-and-jacket attire. No. He's rather comfortable in this weather wearing a short-sleeved shirt and sitting outside on the Goldenrod street without a hat, just lazying on the bench.

It's really nice that those bugs are gone - he faired better than some, but a certain Growlithe had thrown one of those Pinecos in his face, and that darn bug had detonated, so Miles has a bandaid on his forehead as well a gauze against his burned cheek. Gdmit Pip. 8|

But Pip doesn't really care about that because hey, Miles is alive and he was well enough to drag Pip back to the Pokémon center after that WHY SHOULD HE BE WORRIED. So he's frolicking about, chasing his own tail and... looking pretty refreshed. Because spring has come, and Miles had taken Pip and Pess to get a trimming. Pip's got short hair now, and he's pretty darn happy about this. Fuck yeaaahhhhhh.

But his mom? Oh. Oh. Oh Pess isn't very happy about this. She was so proud of her fur, Miles, sure it was really warm but SHE WAS SO PROUD. And the trimming is fine, she's sure she'll grow to like it... but still. So she's sulking, a very, very sulky Arcanine lying next to the bench Miles is sitting on, sending him sulky glares every now and then.

In the meanwhile, as Miles fiddles with his Gear and keeps turning on and off the text option, Remus the Plusle, Nanako's old Squirtle, Jason the Cubone and Cara the Charmander are enjoying ice cream.

It's... really nice that there are no exploding bugs anymore. But there are some important, serious things Miles has been thinking about since those Pokémon started causing trouble. A certain pair of videos had caught his attention, and though Miles didn't particularly respond to one, Miles Edgeworth can't leave certain things alone.

Certain things.. like criminals that get away with their crimes. With a sigh, he opens up his Gear and types in a few words. ]

The man who claimed to have escaped from prison and set the Pokémon loose on the cities - who is he? 

I also know you can see this. Don't think that you can get away with this.

[Bulbasaur looks at the ice cream, and her eyes sparkle. IT LOOKS DELICIOUS. She looks at her trainer endearingly, and Aoko nods.]

Oh, I'll be all right! I have some other Pokemon with me, too! I just thought it would be good for her to try and get over her shyness.

... Depending on your Pokémon to protect you? [ Remus gets a nod from Miles as well and lets the Bulbasaur have some of the ice cream like a good, socializing Plusle. In the meanwhile, Miles looks skeptical, then shrugs. ]

As long as you are safe, miss...?

Well, they sort of decided it themselves. Besides, what would I need to be worried about? [Bulbasaur smiles, and helps itself to some of the lovely ice cream. It's trying not to take too much, since it was the Plusle's ice cream first.]

For an example? A malicious fugitive kidnapper who was the one who set the bugs loose this weekend.

[ He is so serious. ]

My name is Miles Edgeworth.

Wha--[Okay, this is the first Aoko is hearing of this. That took her completely by surprise.] I had....no idea.....

He made a very public announcement.. though I suppose not every would see it.

Oh.........[Nice, Miles. Now you've got her worried.]

But then, are you sure you'll be all right?

Me? [ He blinks. ] I can take care of myself fine.

[She has her doubts about that, but gives a little smile.]

Well, if you're sure, then.

I'm looking for him, anyway.

[Wait, a little kid is looking for a dangerous criminal?]

Are you sure you'll be able to do it? He seems pretty dangerous, the way you said it.

Who else would do it? The police didn't.

What? But the police should put that as their first priority!

The police did nothing when my friend was almost murdered. They did nothing but issue a two week warrant for some thefts, and they let this criminal get away.

I don't know what their priorities are, but they aren't doing their job.

.........[She doesn't even know what to say. The police are doing nothing? Even for a murder?]

If they won't do it, somebody has to.

[She feels a little...confused right now. A little boy is going to try and find a criminal, while the police do nothing? She thinks for a bit. She then looks back at Miles.]

Well......you seem to know what you're doing. So just be careful, okay?

Mm, and you as well, Miss Aoko.

[She smiles.]

You're a good kid.

[ Just.

Shrug. ]

[She looks back at the Pokemon, and notices that her Bulbasaur is getting along with everyone just fine.]

You're Pokemon seem really nice.

[ Namely Remus, as Pip and Pess are off in their own world, and Jason, Cara, and the Squirtle are too immersed in their ice cream. ]

Rem's always been a socializer.

He sure is friendly. I'm glad he's getting along so well with her. When I got her egg from the boy who gave her to me, I was hoping she would be social.
