[In the morning, Miles' alarm will ring. And ring. And ring, before it turns itself off. Downstairs his Pokémon are helping themselves to a breakfast he prepared for them the night before. Remus is rolling around in the living room, but the house looks rather empty with the absence of a large, firey dog to fill the space.

Miles has not been home since yesterday.]

[video: Dec. 28 @ 6:59 a.m.]

[The video begins with a clattering noise as the gear tumbles onto tiled floor of Goldenrod's Pokémon Center. It records at a weird angle for a while, staring at a ceiling and the underside of a table (covered in gum! ewwww), and a pile of books threatening to fall to the floor as well.

When he gets up from his seat to retrieve the fallen Gear, Miles looks like he just woke up from a stressful nap. A long, uncomfortable one, since he'd been asleep at the table since last night. He's actually a little surprised nobody kicked him out.

He scrubs his eyes and snatches the gear up, frowning and in a terrible mood. He stares at the camera.]

[Then, with a sigh, he shakes his head and turns his frown into a less unpleasant expression. Maybe he's grimacing.]

I've yet to give my thanks for the gifts I received this holiday.

Um... Thank you. I hope everybody has a pleasant end of the year.

Miles: [He takes a sip of his own drink.] I won't go off without a word again.

Clover: Good. [A small, relieved smile. She closes her eyes briefly as she sips as well.] And I'll always let you and Ken know where I am.

Miles: Were Remus and the others fine? [He'd left food for his Pokémon, but he worries. 8(]

Clover: They're okay. And Ken's with them.

[He sighs a little with relief. Good. 8C ;; ]

Hey, don't you trust us? Geez. We'll make sure they're okay no matter what.

I-inquiring about something doesn't necessarily mean I don't trust you!

They're fine. [She puts down her mug briefly.] In fact, they'd be psyched to see you again.

[He raises his cup, on the other hand. He gives her a Look over the rim of his cup.]

I'll make sure I apologize to them, too.

[She raises an eyebrow.]

You better.

... I don't usually go back on my words.

Good. I've had several visitors last night, you know. I even let some of them stay in my bed.

[Clover's bed was crowded that night.]

I-I'll make sure they don't bother you tonight. I apologize.

You were bothering me more last night, actually.

I don't mind sharing my bed. Uncle Ares, Pixie, and Neptune like to stay under my blanket a lot.

[H-he frowns an "I feel very bad" frown.] ... I'm sorry.

[She shakes her head, her voice soft.]

I know you won't do it again. At least I was very, very warm then.

I won't. [A firm, serious nod... then another frown.]

I know I won't. I've looked everywhere I could, but there really isn't anything useful.

You thought you could actually find anything about your world or law in a place like this?

I didn't know what I thought I might find, to be completely honest.

Did you think the people from your future left clues for you to find?

Not much. A lawyer told me what happens and who does it, but I don't know how he proved it.

"A lawyer".

[She makes air quotes.]

Miles: I just started; I've got a long way to go. But I've been here for over a year, now... I don't want to forget everything.

Orihime: [ Nods as he speaks. ] I see... That's very admirable though, Miles-kun! You're already working so hard towards the future...

Miles: Uh-- It's.. nothing that great.

Ken: I hope you can, Miles.

Miles: ... I'll have to try.

Ken: [Ken's quiet, and thinks for a very, very long moment.] ... You'd better not let anyone accuse you of murder, Miles. If you do, I'll never forgive you.

Miles: I can't have that. I'll stop it from happening.

Fuu: [... Miles, you stubborn little boy.] ... I won't push you. But please don't try to carry everything on your own.

Miles: I'll be fine, Miss Fuu. It's just a case.

Fuu: If you say so... But still, please don't be a stranger.

Miles: [He gives her a sad little smile.] I'm sorry, Miss Fuu. That wasn't my intention, but it's still early in the morning. It's... not the most pleasant topic of conversation.

Miles: [He looks at Larry very curiously.] Weird?

Larry: Yeah, stuff going on with some friends. It's all sorted out though!

MileS: It sounds like you're having fun, though. That's good.
