016 [video]

[The feed turns on this fine Tuesday afternoon from a Gear that hasn't posted in quite a while. The camera adjusts, focuses, and then shows a disgruntled looking child sitting - legs crossed, leaning back in the chair, with a serious line face - at a table in what looks like the café at the Goldenrod Hotel. A newspaper held in one hand, the other holding....

.....a cup of tea. That he drinks out of.

Good afternoon, residents of Johto, Miles Edgeworth has woken up and he snuck out of the Pokémon Center last night, too, but that's another story.]

Plus!

[The sudden voice is accompanied by the invasion of Remus the Plusle, who hops onto his trainer's lap and takes the cup of tea from him, sitting down and cheerily gulping down the warm drink. His moody expression brightening slightly into that of amusement, Miles gives a soft chuckle and lowers the paper, turning his full attention to the Gear that Remus must have turned on earlier.

First, he sighs. And then he glares at the camera.]
Franziska von Karma.
[Oh boy, is he pissed.]

Upon my waking up just last night, I was informed of your ill-mannered conduct upon your arrival in Johto. You acted rudely and immaturely, and - surely - as one who aspires to succeed that perfect Manfred von Karma, being able to civilly interact with those you meet would be an important skill?

First of all, I have done nothing to be called a coward by you.

Secondly, yelling my name into the network was an over-the-top, yet sufficient way of getting in contact with me. However, I was indeed asleep for the last few days, and refusing to believe the tale when told so was foolish of you. Proceeding then to snap at these people and antagonizing them is even worse.

[A pause, as he takes a breath and rubs his temple.]

As your older brother, and the reason why you ended up acting so disrespectfully to those who simply wanted to help you, I suggest that you rethink your actions carefully and apologize to them soon. Your father stressed the importance of perfection in every aspect of life - and if you are still aspring to fulfill that perfection, it would do you good to start by acting, at least, like you know how to speak without angering every face you see.

[Another pause, and then he looks away from the camera looking a bit squicked out.]

... I don't think I'll ever perfect imitating Mr. von Karma's way of talking.

[He reaches over to drink the tea, but the cup must have been emptied by Remus. He stops, sighs, and sends the camera another look.]

I'll be waiting for your call, Fran. That is all.

... I hope you're doing all right.

[All right, Bulbasaur, hang on to this pokegear for a while. What do you mean you don't have arms grow some -- oh, vines. That works too. Good, hold it in place, just like that--]

First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your latest foolishness. How good of you to call myself out in public in such a fashion -- now, all of Johto will be able to see your glorious and utter defeat by my hands.

And I see that you are as clueless as always when it comes to certain aspects of social interaction, so allow me to refute you on your groundless claims and erroneous misconceptions.

Refutation number one! Since my arrival here in Johto, I have upheld every possible standard of a Von Karma with perfection. Of course, I admit that there are a number of those who cannot understand this perfection, but I will now take the time to explain why. My perfection lies in my honesty and my accurate portrayal of facts. Those who are weak and unable: namely everyone else, are unable to accept these start truths because of that weakness. Thus, they become irrationally irritated when it is themselves that they should be berating.

Their weakness is none of my concern. I merely state what I see, and what I see is the truth.

Refutation number two! Miles Edgeworth, you are a coward. Not only were you not there to welcome my arrival into Johto, you relied on your so-called 'friends' to defend you in your stead -- and often with weak and unreliable arguments and without decisive evidence.

[10/???]

[identity profile] recrimination.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, I will acknowledge that there were extenuating circumstances involved.

Unfortunately, this does not excuse the fact that those you have socialized with seem to be under the impression that you are some sort of a understanding and gentle individual! What is the meaning of this, Miles Edgeworth? I demand an explanation at once!

[11/???]

And thirdly--

[Delicate. Pause.]

[12/13]

[identity profile] recrimination.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
... I will allow you to present your excuses as to why you are currently four feet tall, look to be no older than I am and are sporting a pair of extremely tasteless shorts.

[For a second there, she had been a little worried, seeing his face pop up on the screen and bracing for impact marginally and with as much grace as she can muster. There's a tense moment when she stares into the screen and he stares back she wonders just what happened to him to make him regress like this when -- he crosses his arms and puts on a haughty look.]

[Except for the fact that he had just insulted her twice over. Okay, Edgeworth, now it's personal.]

Let me reiterate -- you are the furthest thing from perfection right now, Miles Edgeworth, and thus you have no qualifications to even attempt quantifying the perfection of a Von Karma! Thus, your argument is invalid and dismissed outright.

[identity profile] recrimination.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I have made myself clear, allow me to move onto your foolish statements and refute them with perfection.

First of all, my riding crop, as your sorry memory seems to have failed you drastically in this, was given to me and approved by none other than Papa himself. In fact, he was the first to put it in my hand when I saddled the horse, and was the first to applaud me when I used it against an ignorant fool. I have Papa's full approval, and even you should know that his approval overrides your insignificant opinions.

Second of all, while it is true that standards here are significantly lower than that of our homeland, I refuse to compromise on what should be common sense! Even for those who are of lower intelligence, it should be mere common sense that if you wish to state something as true, you are expected to back up your words with evidence. If you cannot, then it is only natural for the other to come to the conclusion that either your premisis is faulty or you are indulging in falsehoods! I for one will not be so foolish as to believe anything anyone says unless there is that certain proof! Naturally, if they are telling the truth, the proof should be easy to find. Thus, they have no excises.

I will not compromise simply because they are senseless!

[identity profile] recrimination.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Also, you will send proper documentation of your indisposed state immediately. In fact, it should have already been sent! Your tardiness does not speak well of you, my foolish younger brother!

[7/???]

[identity profile] recrimination.livejournal.com 2011-01-26 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
However, I will cede to you on your alledged time paradox argument die to the irrefutable evidence of your shortened stature, your convenient amnesia and your stunted intelligence. Also, this makes you legitimately my younger brother both in name and physically. Of course, I have already known this for years. However, it will merit you for everyone else to recognize it as well.
