.......Um. Mr. Apollo?

[Good evening Johto, you get to see Edgeworth actually talking to his Pokégear! And he's looking rather awkward today as he does so.]

Uh...

[Ahem.]

I was going to go gather berries to feed my Pokémon when we start traveling, so I went to open my bag. I hadn't used it since earlier in our stay at Violet, but when I went near it, Sirius and Pess suddenly seemed a bit.. protective of it.

[......Uh.]

I convinced them to let me open it, and I found... these.

[And with a sigh, Edgeworth turns the camera to his bag, where, nestled inside on Edgeworth's change of clothes, is a small group of orange eggs.]

.........What should I do with these, Mr. Apollo? I don't mind keeping them with me, but we - I - can't possibly take care of... eight Growlithes.

[[ooc; Yes Ellie I was very serious about this. :3c So..... uh!

Hey Route, Edgey's discovered that his and Apollo's Pokémon have been chummy with each other (not that he knows how babies are made, mind you), and he has no idea what to do with these six Growlithe eggs.

Pess might have some objections to her babies being given away to anyone but Phoenix any strangers, but s'long as Apollo/his mun
[info]justicepuns is all right with it, Edgeworth would like to see if any of his friends are interested in getting a pup? (For Pess' sake, he's going to keep one with him, though! ;; ) ]]

[The feed turns on at past one o'clock in the morning, a deliberate post from our ever-insomniac future-prosecutor as he and his Pokémon wander aimlessly down Route 31 on the night of the attempt on Phoenix's life. At first, Edgeworth doesn't do much other than hold his Gear, the camera focused instead on Pess's concerned face as her trainer stood there, silently, before her.

After a while, Pess whines softly, jolting him out of his thoughts, and the boy finally speaks, turning the camera towards himself and -- huh, what is with that depressed-looking face?]

.....This is a message for everyone who saw Phoenix Wright's video earlier today:

He'll be all right, now. Help came early, and he was able to be properly treated. He won't be at his best, but at the very least, he should be able to move around a little by this weekend, although I don't think having him travel would be a good idea. If only Pess could evolve without a Fire Stone; those stones are so expensive..

In any case, his life won't be in immediate danger anymore...

[It is here that he pauses, seeming to hesitate. And a flash of guilt flits across his face right before that forced calm of his crumbled. Whatever it is that's on his mind, it's clearly a big deal to him, and his frown deepens, eyebrows knitting together. His eyes almost look like their watering.. After almost a whole minute, Edgeworth pulls a Pokéball out of his pocket.]

I caught an Spinarak here, earlier.. I've been here all night searching for Pokémon, since I don't want something like this to happen again. I have to be stronger, so that I don't cause everyone trouble... Besides, what happened today was--

[And his voice breaks off as he averts his eyes. He raises his hand to his mouth and struggles with the words, managing to choke out: ]

.....What happened today was all my fault. I could have stopped it.

[And then there's a strange sound, like someone starting to cry out loud, as Edgeworth abruptly ends the feed. At least he was able to send out the message about Phoenix. He himself had a couple of messages to send, but because he was crying now, he resorts to sending texts:]

[Forward-dated to late Saturday morning, around 10:00 AM.]

[Good morning, Route! It's been a while since Edgeworth's last post to the network, and this time, too, it doesn't seem like he's the one making the actual post, because the kid's Pokémon seem to be more enthusiastic about the camera thing than he is.

Today, despite not having hands, Tadpole the Poliwag has figured out a way to use his trainer's Pokégear -- using his tail. Tadpole now is carrying the gear atop his head in what looks like a room in the Violet Pokémon Center. The camera keeps moving around and around at a dizzy pace because the creature is, well, pacing. Rather anxiously. On occasion, he would stop and cry up at his trainer, who is sitting on his bed, knees drawn up and a blanket tossed over his body.

Every once in a while, Edgeworth would cough or sneeze, then shiver and pull the blanket around himself tighter. Only a few people may realize why, but it seems the boy caught a... pretty bad cold while stalking Phoenix and Dahlia, but SHH THEY DON'T KNOW. Maybe.

The Poliwag continues to call out. ]

Waag!

---I'm all right, Tadpole, just keep it down, all right?

[With a tired, dreary sigh, Edgeworth raises his head and looks down at the camera. He's a real mess, though he does have a tiny shine of accomplishment in his eyes.]

It seems that my jacket wasn't sufficient enough in keeping me warm for the whole time, but...at least no harm came to him, right, Miss Iris? [And he gives a tired but rather triumphant smile. Phoenix apparently got through his rendezvous with Dahlia physically unharmed!]

[The feed opens to show a very hyper, very happy Growlithe grinning at the camera, and then she looks up and spins in a circle, trotting off-screen before the camera turns and shows Miles Edgeworth with a Poliwag jumping up and down next to him. Pess and Tadpole are back in action, guys! Littleworth, although he wasn't grinning like a retard or dogpiling with his Pokémon like some others, is almost radiating happiness and relief and--

-- what is that sad, lost smile on his face?

He's definitely trying to shrug off whatever's eating him, though, and he picks up Pess, showing her off to the camera.]

She and Tadpole are back to normal, everyone-- I hope your Pokémon are, too.

[There's a small pause as he gives the camera a contemplative frown, as if he's debating something, and then--]

Miss Hawthorne, you're probably still confused by everything, but things are back to 'normal' now, at least for now. Please be careful on your journey, though. [He's genuinely concerned about Dahlia, really, but he's not sure how to approach anyone in this world anymore.

Pess squirms around and jumps out of Edgeworth's hold, onto his lap. But the boy barely acknowledges her as he still stares at his Gear, a frown on his face.

A few, long seconds of silence later, he reaches over. And the feed cuts off.]

[Backdated to earlier Friday afternoon, around 2/3:00]

[Guess who's now arrived in Violet City? It's your local Ace Attorney gang, and after Phoenix finished skipping around the city, they've all settled down in the Pokémon Center -- and Maya Fey has stolen Miles' Pokégear. Her cheerful face smiles out at you. " :D "]

Hey guys, this is Maya on Mr. Edgew-- Miles' gear! We finally arrived in Violet again. Civilization! Warmth! And Halloween!

[Maya then turns the camera to show the lot of the Ace Attorney Squad mingling around a couch in the Violet Pokémon Center lobby, reunited and just glad to escape into the safety of the Pokémon center. That weird music outside had really been creeping some of them out.

Then the camera focuses on Edgeworth, who's looking rather strange as he sits next to Phoenix and is talking to Tadpole the Poliwag. His familiar red jacket is gone, replaced by a peculiar-looking.. blue suit. And his hair has been hair-sprayed back (by Ema) into some pretty pathetic pseudo-spikes. Remind you of anyone?

Ema's voice announces: ]

What do you think, guys? We dressed Miles up as Mr. Wright!

It's weird. [Line. Face. Phoenix is only a bit squicked out.]

Nick, you should have let us use your badge! In the end we had to settle with this weird cardboard badge--

[Larry appears behind Phoenix and Edgeworth, leaning over the back of the couch and pointing at the lopsided "badge" on Edgeworth's chest.]

You can't underestimate these cardboard badges, Maya! It even fooled the judge when we had someone impersonate Phoenix.

[Well, that earned him a few dubious glares from Phoenix, Edgeworth, and a rather sullen-looking Apollo, the third of which who sighs.]

How long do you think we'll be staying here, guys? Because I really feel like we should distance ourselves fro--

Don't worry, Apollo! We'll just be stuck here until Phoenix gets around to beating the gym leader.

[With a flash of her blue cape, Trucy shows herself on screen as well, smiling brightly.]

It'll be alright, Polly. For now we should enjoy the festivities while we can.

[Apollo makes a disgruntled face before he's pulled into a one-armed chokehold hug by Larry, who's insisting that staying in Violet for a few days won't do any harm. Maya turns the camera again and shows a dark-haired man with glasses laughing at the group's antics - hello Jack Skellington! Seems that this is a big enough group, right? And them Edgeworth's voice pipes up.]

Miss Fey, when will you give me back my Pokégear?

Just a moment, Miles. Hey, hey, let's take a picture, everyone!

Brilliant. Hey gather closer gather close-- oh no Apollo you're staying here.

Mr. Wright, look this way and say cheese!

Wha--?

[Maya raises the Gear up above her head to capture the entire group using the tiny camera. She just barely fits Mr. Skellington as her cousin Pearl shuffles up behind her. In the meanwhile, the rest of the group scurry around to get even a part of their faces into the picture.]

Ready? 1.... 2....

3!

[-- and hey! Guess who's caught on camera as they're walking on the other side of the window?]

((OOC; holy crap guys I am never again doing a post where nobody other than Edgeworth talks. :I Anyone in Violet's Pokémon Center, feel free to action, and threadhopping... might be inevitable here, with so many of the Ace Attorney squad currently mingling in the city right now. Happy Halloween guys!

[A blanket of black greets viewers when Miles' Pokégear is turned on, the machine taking a few seconds to adjust to the darkness of the night before Miles' face, lit up by the faint light of his screen, comes into view -- guess who's staying up past his bedtime?

Miles is being careful not to be so loud as he uses his Gear, and the soft snoring of Pess can be heard off-screen. As the camera adjusts, the orange glow of a slowly dying campfire casts Miles in a warm, somewhat lonely light, reflecting off of his glazed eyes and something - something wet - on his cheeks. The faint shadow under his eyes shows that he probably hasn't slept well in a while, either.]

......Well, it seems like a storm is brewing in the distance, after all. I can't expect tomorrow to be as clear as it was today.
Wright, you're not still afraid of thunder, are you now? If you are... I wish you luck.

[There is no particular reason why Miles is talking to the camera other than that there was nothing else to do. He simply seems unable to sleep, or maybe he's refusing to do so.]

Cherrygrove shouldn't be too far away. If the storm tomorrow doesn't slow us down too much, and if we hurry, we might arrive by later tomorrow or early Saturday. Will anyone be in the vicinity?

[He pauses.]

I wonder when the morning would come.
