[The feed turns on at past one o'clock in the morning, a deliberate post from our ever-insomniac future-prosecutor as he and his Pokémon wander aimlessly down Route 31 on the night of the attempt on Phoenix's life. At first, Edgeworth doesn't do much other than hold his Gear, the camera focused instead on Pess's concerned face as her trainer stood there, silently, before her.

After a while, Pess whines softly, jolting him out of his thoughts, and the boy finally speaks, turning the camera towards himself and -- huh, what is with that depressed-looking face?]

.....This is a message for everyone who saw Phoenix Wright's video earlier today:

He'll be all right, now. Help came early, and he was able to be properly treated. He won't be at his best, but at the very least, he should be able to move around a little by this weekend, although I don't think having him travel would be a good idea. If only Pess could evolve without a Fire Stone; those stones are so expensive..

In any case, his life won't be in immediate danger anymore...

[It is here that he pauses, seeming to hesitate. And a flash of guilt flits across his face right before that forced calm of his crumbled. Whatever it is that's on his mind, it's clearly a big deal to him, and his frown deepens, eyebrows knitting together. His eyes almost look like their watering.. After almost a whole minute, Edgeworth pulls a Pokéball out of his pocket.]

I caught an Spinarak here, earlier.. I've been here all night searching for Pokémon, since I don't want something like this to happen again. I have to be stronger, so that I don't cause everyone trouble... Besides, what happened today was--

[And his voice breaks off as he averts his eyes. He raises his hand to his mouth and struggles with the words, managing to choke out: ]

.....What happened today was all my fault. I could have stopped it.

[And then there's a strange sound, like someone starting to cry out loud, as Edgeworth abruptly ends the feed. At least he was able to send out the message about Phoenix. He himself had a couple of messages to send, but because he was crying now, he resorts to sending texts:]



I'm sorry I did not reply to your message immediately, Merlin. I saw Wright's video myself as well, but thank you for trying to inform me.

Mr. Gumshoe, where are you right now? I'll be heading to the next town as soon as Wright heals, and I will probably go to Goldenrod before turning back. I'd like to meet up with you.

[The spider crawls his way up on top of Edgeworth's head and greets Kristoph in a chipper manner.]

A Spinarak, hmm? I don't think I've seen one from this close before.

Giving a name to something can sometimes prove to be a difficult task. Perhaps you could use the way you named your other Pokemon as a guideway?

Well... Pess was a name my father once came up with, and.. my Poliwag's name is Tadpole, so..

I don't think my Spinarak would appreciate being named "Spider".

The older Miles Edgeworth I know owns a dog of the same name. As a fellow dog owner we've talked about dogs quite a few times.

[ Kristoph smiles and crouches down, gently pressing his hand on Miles's shoulder. ]

[Edgeworth nods, a small but proud smile on his face.]

[Kristoph's comment cheers Edgeworth up immensely, and he ... smiles! He was never one to fish for compliments, but hearing good things about his father always made him so proud.]

[ Well at least Kristoph didn't name his brother himself. And that's one princess Kristoph wouldn't want to save. ]

[ Kristoph smiles back, giving Miles's shoulder a pat before getting up again. ]

Now then, I believe you came here in order to do some training?

Ah! Yes.. I've been training for a while now..

[And it shows, in the way his three Pokémon (the Spinarak on his back and the other two taking a rest a distance away) all seem to have dirt and mud on them, the scratch on Edgeworth's cheek, and his scraped knees. He's been out here for a long time.]

[ Kristoph takes a good look at Miles, noticing the mud and the scrapes. ] I can certainly see that.

Do you want to continue or perhaps have a break?

I'm all right, but I think my Pokémon would appreciate a break.. so I think we'll rest for a little while.

I'm sure rest will do good for you as well. [ Kristoph looks around to examine the surroundings. He isn't too keen on spending the night in a place like this (his room back in Violet wasn't as comfortable as he preferred, but it was still tolerable) but doesn't let it show on his face. ]

[ Umberto the Ekans on the other hand seemed happy to be outside, slithering on the grass and flicking its tongue in and out. ]

[Edgeworth notices the Ekans, and with a small smile, he crouches down and holds out a hand.]

Hello there. [It's totally safe to be holding his hand out to a poisonous snake, yeeeep.]

[ Ekans stops and stares at the boy for a moment before looking back at its trainer, almost as if asking for his approval. Kristoph nods and the snake then proceeds to move closer to the boy. ]

It's surprising how intelligent these creatures can be.

[ Ekans hisses, looking at Edgeworth with it's big and yellow eyes. ]

[Edgeworth continues to hold his hand out towards the Ekans, just smiling. Being so intrigued by the Pokémon, his reply to Kristoph maaaaaaay come off as a tad bit offhanded, not that it was intentional at all!]

[ Either Kristoph's pokemon is as snobby as the man himself, or maybe it just isn't used to receiving attention like this. ]
