[ The video is shaky, as whichever Pokémon recording trudges through the sand of the beach. The weather in Cianwood is beautiful today--blue sky, blue ocean, white sand and a slight breeze! You can see an orange pool float bobbing up and down on the waves, with a family of electric mice soaking up the sun.

And there's Miles, sitting on the sand.

He's clearly got no agenda to get in the water with the short sleeved shirt he's wearing, or the book lying open on his lap, but he's enjoying summer in his own way. Jason the Cubone is sitting right next to him, diligently building a sand castle. He needs help often, though, so Miles isn't getting much reading done because he keeps having to hold the bucket for his Pokémon or dig a moat with him...

and the camera-mon finally reaches the pair, setting the gear down on an upturned bucket before a Charmander waddles into the screen, plopping herself down on one of her trainer's knees. Miles rubs her head and turns to the camera, picking it up. He's grown used to it recording without him intending to.. :|a

He's in a pretty good mood today. ]

Ken and I've arrived in Cianwood. I could have done without the ferry ride, but this town is quite beautiful. I've never really been to a beach before, either...

I was told on the way here that there's a place called a Safari Zone nearby--what is it, exactly, does anybody know?

[Ciel's got a bit of a smile on his face today. It is such a quaint scene afterall.]

I can't say I've ever been to a proper beach either. Ship yards, the River Thames, but never a proper beach along the ocean.

Good afternoon.

The Thames is nice enough, I suppose. Largest river in London, in England. In the winter it freezes over and we have the Frost Faires. Quite the event.

Ship yards are quite different of course. Loud, dirty. Not a place for children. I spent a good deal of my time there investigating crimes.

The Frost Faire is a festival we have during the winter. As mentioned the Thames freezes over, and merchant stalls will go up, contests are held. Children and couples go ice skating. Elizabeth is quite fond of them

[Sadly by the twentieth century the river stopped freezing over anyway. Milder winters and faster currents.]

It was indeed quite remarkable. Especially looking out across the ice at night.

[Unfortunate indeed.]

I imagine you would have enjoyed it. I shall be journeying back toward Goldenrod soon however, and the ice caves are much less of a wonder. I quite dislike them really.

Cold, though I suppose that's only natural. Slippery as well, you spend half your time sliding across the ice, clinging onto the walls.

[It's not a pretty picture, and not one he'd like anyone imagining was him.]
