...Ever since that trial, I believed that it really had been me to have shot my father. But the bullet I discharged hit Mr. von Karma and-- and he knew that, so he took that to his advantage.

[And this is where he stops. He knows how easily Misaki cries, and he doesn't really want to make him cry anymore. He won't explain something to the older boy, who's been so kind to him, and add even more to his burden than he already had. It wasn't fair to Misaki.]

My father broke his perfect record, and I shot his shoulder. He wished for revenge in the most extreme way possible... and that's all that there is to it.

[He doesn't blame himself for what happened. He knows that he wouldn't have been able to do anything, because he was small and weak and powerless. He still was.

And that was what he couldn't forgive himself for being: powerless. Too weak to protect Phoenix, too weak to be able to protect his Pokémon and... probably too weak to protect his new friend, Ken, as well.

He had to get stronger, and his eyes are... glinting. With determination, but not a very positive one. He just looks grim, but purposeful. ]

Mr. von Karma intends to murder somebody innocent just for the sake of getting his revenge on me.. and I won't allow it. I won't let anybody get hurt, or die, anymore..
